Beach vacation part 1:cell phone pics

We went to the beach in Destin, Florida this past week and had an absolute blast! I have lots of pictures I want to share, but for starters (and until I upload my camera pics) I'll share what's on my phone.
Saturday morning, before our flight, we went to get donuts and pedis. I begged Aaron to go too and get his done. He laughed in my face. Boo!

Ava was scared at first by the sight of a man with a face mask on, putting lonnng curly nails on a lady. Haha! I can see where that would freak a little kid out a tad. In the end she loved her "teh-nails" as she calls them.

When we got to the airport Ava insisted on pulling the carryon. How big does she look?!?!

We ate dinner at Chili's to go in the terminal. I had my favorite buffalo chicken salad! This is Ava's favorite person besides me. Her "Auntie". She came with us!

Here is my excited girl, ready to fly! She has been on quite a few airplanes and she just loves to fly!!

Looking for the beach! Haha.

The next morning we hit the beach around 10am after sleeping in from our long travel day/nightmare of airlines losing both mine and Aaron's luggage. Luckily Ava's was a carryon. I was not about to chance losing her luggage! Her clothing is far more important!!
Anyhow, she was having a ball!!

We got all dressed up and went out to dinner each night. Here she is outside our condo. She smelled this flower each time she walked past it.

Me being silly in my new wardrobe, courtesy of American Airlines! No, I didn't wear the hat with the dress. That's my pool hat.

I found a TCBY!! Score!

Breakfast at The Donut Hole was a highlight of the trip. I loved that place as a kid and it was just as I recalled! Ava had fun stacking jelly and eating donuts!

And would you believe they had red velvet donuts?!?! Oh I need one now:(

The rest of the trip I forgot to use my phone. All I have are pics from our flight home...
Her teeth crack me up here! She was being silly.

Aaron and I were so sad to leave!!

And there you have a brief recap of our trip! Be prepared for more of this. I have lots more I want to share!

21 weeks

How many weeks: 21!

Size of baby: Size of a large carrot

Weight Gain: 12 lbs
Maternity Clothes: yes please! I mostly wear dresses because it's just so much easier and I think it looks more slimming on me to wear dresses. And let's just face it; I need all the help I can get these days:)

Gender: it's a BOY! Judd Richard

Movement: Feels like a little fish in there! He is SO LOW and he loves to dance on my bladder. He is most active in the evening and early morning.

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good. I get a little freaked out at this point because I wake up on my back a lot which is a no no. Just upped my pillows from 2 to 6 (ok maybe just 4) to stop all that though. So far it's helping! I wake up super early and then get sleepy each day around 1pm. I am exhausted every afternoon and fight off taking naps like it's my job!

What I Miss: Sleeping on my stomach and my memory. I am so forgetful these days!! The pregnancy brain is no joke and I'm sure all involved with me these days are less than happy about my absent mindedness. I also miss bending over with ease. Now it seems like I always have to make some loud sigh as I am struggling to get up and down.
I'm also missing cooler weather. This triple digit heat is BAD!

Cravings: Anything that I don't cook and that's at a restaurant!
My cravings change alot, but the ones that remain are cottage cheese and watermelon, bagels and cream cheese, avacado, fruit (strawberries, peaches, pineapple, plums, bananas with peanut butter, and grapes) frozen yogurt, twizzlers, chocolate, cheese cubes with salted pecans/cashews/almonds, and handi snacks. I mean seriously? Those are the best!! Who can not appreciate a good old fashioned handi snack?
That list is growing rapidly. HA!!

Symptoms: Heartburn/Indigestion, headaches, and exhaustion. Starting to get a little back ache. Another weird symptom is I am allergic to my wedding band. Can't wear it at all.

Best Moment this Week: Making more fun things for Judd and Aaron feeling him move! ALSO, his bedding came in!!!!! I will share after his nursery is all put together.

Here are a few pieces of SheShe Made Judd has collected...

I mean really? Can a baby have too many name gowns? I don't think so! Especially this little one.

Homegrown Goodness

A few weeks ago we went out to the farm to visit MeeMaw. Ava asks about her all the time so we try to get out there as often as we can. I know MeeMaw will not be around for most of Ava's childhood as she is in her 90's. So, this time is precious to us and we are thankful for the memories Ava gets to make while time allows.

Ava found some snacks in the pantry. Nothing like some "blue chips" (Ava's favorite) and cranberry juice, huh?

After her snack, Ava wanted to go for a ride on the golf cart. We were in for a treat on this particular golf cart ride, because LOTS of vegetables were ready to be picked!
We started with the cornfield!
Ava was enthralled with the "really tall weeds". And even more so when she learned that these weeds had corn growing on them!
Dad showed her how to pick it, and they both enjoyed scoping out the best looking husks.

Looks like she found a winner!!

Doesn't she look like a fancy corn picker? I had no idea we would be out in cornfields and vegetable gardens or else I probably would have dressed her in overalls and rain boots. Haha!

I didn't get pictures of the vegetable garden, but here is out loot! We got enough corn and red potatoes for an army, onions, squash, and peppers.

Doesn't get more homegrown and fresh than this. We were so excited!

Talking on our squash phones.
I also noticed pumpkins and gourds were just beginning to grow too! More great things to pick in the fall! I can't believe I've been out to the farm all these years we've been married  (all 5 of them. that is A LOT. ha!) and NEVER realized all the great veggies that were being grown.

I was super pumped to get home and cook up all the veggies. We cheated and stopped by the store for some okra. We wanted fried okra with our other veggies. Just seemed like a Texas necessity, ya know?

It was one of our top three favorite meals and I am so excited we have tons more in the freezer so that I can cook up this meal again SOON! This day at the farm was most definitely one that will never be forgotten.

20 weeks {halfway there}

How many weeks: 20! Judd is half baked. Haha!

Size of baby: Size of a banana

Weight Gain: 12 lbs (GULP!!) I've gained quite a bit this past week. Not surprised as we were out of town (always equals weight gain) and Ava had swim lessons around noon each day 40 minutes away. We had takeout every day for lunch! It better stay under 15 for at least the next 3 weeks and I will be happy!

Maternity Clothes: yes please!

Gender: it's a BOY! Judd Richard

Movement: Getting more pronounced each day. He is SO LOW and he loves to dance on my bladder.

Or maybe they'd just say this is how I am when not pregnant too?!?!
I'm also missing cooler weather. This triple digit heat is BAD!

Cravings: Anything that I don't cook and that's at a restaurant! Bad, expensive craving! I'm having a real aversion to any food that I cook and my husband is about to have a heart to heart with me about my money blowing on Wendy's, Olive Garden, Subway, Sonic, etc.
Also loving watermelon and nuts this week! Something new every week I tell ya!
Still love burgers and chocolate (things I don't EVER want when not pregnant)

Symptoms: Heartburn/Indigestion, headaches, and exhaustion. I'm trying to drink more water but need to try HARDER. I am not a drinker and my water intake stinks!

Best Moment this Week: Listening to Judd's heartbeat on the doppler and Ava's eyes lighting up. She already loves her baby brother so much! Which is a big change from a few months ago. Also, this past week she has been coming to me each morning, lifting up my shirt or gown (yes I sometimes sleep in nightgowns!!! ha!) and says "Let me see your baby. I want to hear him too." She then puts her ear up to my belly and I ask her what she hears. She says each day "He's saying 'ga ga goo goo'." She is so funny.

Have a fun weekend and stay cool!

19 weeks

I'm so behind on this. But here is my 19 week post anyway...

How many weeks: 19

Size of baby: Size of a large heirloom tomato

Weight Gain: 8 lbs (probably more like 20 after this weekend)

Maternity Clothes: yes please!

Gender: it's a BOY! Judd Richard

Movement: I finally felt a firm kick this past week!! Not just the bubbles and flutters anymore!

Sleep: Sleeping pretty good. I get a little freaked out at this point because I wake up on my back a lot which is a no no. Just upped my pillows from 2 to 6 (ok maybe just 4) to stop all that though. So far it's helping!

What I Miss: Sleeping on my stomach and my memory. I am so forgetful these days!! The pregnancy brain is no joke and I'm sure all involved with me these days are less than happy about my absent mindedness.

Also loving snow cones and frozen yogurt this week. I've gone to one or the other 6 times this week! (more ridiculous spending)

Symptoms: Heartburn/Indigestion and headaches. I'm trying to drink more water but need to try HARDER. I am not a drinker and my water intake stinks!

Best Moment this Week: Had my anatomy ultrasound so I got to see little Judd moving around and doing his sweet thing. Everything looked great! We will go back in 3 weeks for one more scan to get a better look at his heart though. Little stinker wasn't very cooperative in showing off his thumper.

Hope you all are having a blessed weekend!!

Our week in phone pictures

I'm never real good at "writing" on this here blog. Mostly because I don't get on here and post enough & when I do I have so much I want to say that I get all random and off topic and give up half way through and never finish.
Or I just use run on sentences.
Ha!
What can I say? My favorite color is clear.
So, instead I stick to posting a lot of pics and very few words.
Same goes for this post!
Here was our week in pics...
Got my machine back on Sunday and have been back to work this week! Loving my new work room!!

Ava got a teeball set from my mom and she has gotten so good at teeball!! Aaron is in heaven. And take a load of those cheeks!

One of my favorite things about summer. Enough said!

Ava and I hit up Northpark on Thursday to eat lunch and do a bit if shopping. She loved carrying her "presents".

I've been SO enjoying making boy things lately for my little Judd. Here is one of several items I've made this week during my "free time". Maybe this explains why I'm so exhausted. I can't handle 1am bedtimes these days.

Another night of snowcones. We can't get enough!

Hope your week was just as fun!!

My photo
Ft. Worth, Texas
After having my girly girl in April of 08, and spending oodles of money on one of a kind boutique, monogrammed clothing (with hairbows to match), I decided it was time to learn this trade myself before I went broke! I learned how to sew, embroider, and make hairbows in a matter of 3 months. What started as a hobby has turned into a dream come true. I quit my job as a teacher and now work from home when the little one sleeps. My life as a mommy and a boutique clothing designer/manufacturer/monogrammer is truly the best of both worlds!! I have big dreams for the future of my family and the future of SheShe Made. Thanks for joining me as I blog about the journey. Let me know if there is a bow or outfit you'd like custom made for you! Email me at sheshebows@yahoo.com and thanks for stopping by!
